Achieving your Certificate IV qualification with REIT is a great way to set yourself apart from other agents. It shows that you are committed to your career and have taken the time to ensure your knowledge and skills are of a high standard.
Overview
The Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice CPP41419 qualification reflects the role of real estate professionals who apply knowledge of legal, agency and compliance requirements, ethical standards and consumer preferences to conduct real estate functions for residential and commercial property sales and property management.
Learning Pathways
Successful completion of the qualification will allow learners to:
- Perform the functions of a Property Representative
- Progress to the CPP51119 Diploma of Property
Entry Requirements
There are no formal pre-requisites to complete the qualification, however REIT discloses the following as pre-requisites to complete the training:
- Learners must have an intermediate level of computer skills and knowledge
- Learners must have access to a PC computer and internet
- Learners have access to a printer to print resources
- A Tasmanian resident
- An Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident

- Learners must have ASCF 2/3 level of language, literacy and numeracy (LLN)
- Learners must be 16 years and over at time of enrolment
REIT conducts all training and assessment in plain English, via an online platform. Learners are required to participate in training and complete all assessments in plain English.
The Property Agents Board also has requirements for eligibility of licensing.
Details
This qualification is to be delivered over a twelve to twenty-four month period via Zoom learning, eLearning or Blended learning (combination of Zoom learning and eLearning). Total hours of self-directed learning may vary relative to the units selected by the learner, mode of delivery and prior knowledge of the learner. Any combination will equate to approximately 900 - 1200 hours.
Investment
Learners undertaking a certificate course may qualify for funding which will cover the majority of course fees. Employers may also be eligible for government incentive payments of up to $4000. Conditions apply to the incentive payments; contact the REIT Training Department to discuss payment options and pricing plans.
Packaging Rules
To achieve this qualification, competency must be demonstrated in:
- 18 units of competency
- 5 core units
- 13 elective units
The elective units must ensure the integrity of the AQF qualification and contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome and be chosen as follows:
At least two Groups must be chosen from Groups A-B ** REIT will be offering further group options early 2021
The remaining units may be chosen from units packaged from the Groups or the general pool of electives OR
Up to two units may be chosen from Certificate IV or Diploma qualification in the CPP Property Services Training Package.
