Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice

Overview

The Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice CPP41419 qualification reflects the role of real estate professionals who apply knowledge of legal, agency and compliance requirements, ethical standards and consumer preferences to conduct real estate functions.

Learning Pathways

Successful completion of the qualification will allow learners to:

• Perform the functions of a Property Representative
• Progress to the CPP51122 Diploma of Property (Agency Management)

Entry Conditions

There are no educational pre-requisites required to complete the qualification, however you will be required to meet the following conditions to complete the training:

• Access to a Personal Computer (PC), internet and a printer to print resources
• An intermediate level of computer skills and knowledge
• Be an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident*
• * Where a student holds a Visa that permits study, the student must have the capacity to apply for a Unique Student Identifier number (USI) in order to participate in the training
• Have ASCF 2/3 level of language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) (which will be assessed during the enrolment process)
• Be at least 16 years of age at time of enrolment
• Provide a valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) number (apply online: https://www.usi.gov.au)

Note that students wishing to apply for an exemption from providing a USI number can apply here: https://www.usi.gov.au/exemptions. You will need to provide the reasons you are applying for an exemption and accept the listed consequences of not having a USI. Please email a copy of your exemption letter to james.jackson@reit.com.au before proceeding with your Certificate IV enrolment.

REIT conducts all training and assessment in plain English, via an online platform. Learners are required to participate in training and complete all assessments in plain English.

The Property Agents Board also has requirements for eligibility of licensing.

Details

This qualification is to be delivered over a twelve to twenty-four month period via Zoom learning, classroom learning, eLearning or Blended learning (combination of Zoom learning, classroom learning and eLearning). Total hours of self-directed learning may vary relative to the units selected by the learner, mode of delivery and prior knowledge of the learner. Any combination will equate to approximately 900 – 1200 hours. Approximately 8-11 hours of study per week over a 24 month period.

What is a traineeship?

A traineeship is a type of vocational training (training under a supervisor) where you earn a wage and learn about the industry and job, you are in. Your employer needs initiate the traineeship by contacting an Australian Apprenticeship Centre.

How do traineeships work?

• Employers arrange for an Australian Apprenticeship Centre (AAC) to visit the office to sign the employee into a traineeship.
• The student enrols into the qualification with the REIT (below)

During the process students are required to;

• Complete a Language, Literacy & Numeracy (LLN) quiz,
• Complete a payment form,
• Complete a sign-up discussion.

Can I still enrol if my employer does not want to proceed with a traineeship?

You can still enrol and complete the Certificate IV qualification with the REIT. This is charged as $750 upon enrolment, then $200 per month until the full fee ($5500) has been paid.

• Enrols into the qualification with the REIT (below)
• During the process students are required to;
  • Complete a Language, Literacy & Numeracy (LLN) quiz,
  • Complete a payment plan form,
  • Complete a sign-up discussion.

Packaging Rules

To achieve this qualification, competency must be demonstrated in:

• 18 units of competency
• 5 core units
• 13 elective units

The elective units must ensure the integrity of the AQF qualification and contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome and be chosen as follows:

• all the elective units in any two elective groups from Groups A–L listed below must be chosen **REIT only offer group A & B
• the remaining elective units may be chosen from the general elective units listed or the CPP Property Services Training Package.

The qualification comprises of 18 units that have been grouped together and are delivered in 11 clusters.
